Length of treatment is individualized and determined collaboratively between you and your clinician. For medication treatment, the recommended length of treatment for most disorders is typically 1 year or more, depending upon your specific case.
Purpose Psychiatry follows strict safety and regulatory guidelines when it comes to medication management. The frequency of visits depends on the specific case. Clients may be seen more often during initial treatment or medication adjustments. The following follow up cadences are required when choosing to engage in care with Purpose Psychiatry.First, clients on a stable medication regimen and not taking controlled medications are required to follow up once every 3 months. Finally, clients who are taking prescribed a controlled medication are required to follow up every 60 days. Be sure to consider these standard of care requirements when deciding whether or not to seek care with our practice.
Medications may or may not be prescribed after the initial evaluation has been completed as it all depends upon meeting criteria for medication management. This will be clear prior to the end of the initial evaluation. Established patients are given enough medication and refills until the next follow up visit, so refills are not necessary. If you have missed or cancelled an appointment, you will need to contact our office to reschedule your appointment in a timely manner. Once you have a rescheduled appointment your provider can send you enough medications to allow for the gap in treatment. Once you follow up, your provider will send in continued refills as before. This is to ensure continuity of care and safe medication management practices. The only exception to this policy is if a client is on a schedule 2 or 4 controlled medication such as a stimulant or a benzodiazepine. Schedule 2 medications can only be refilled once every 30 days due to DEA regulations. This schedule of medication is highly controlled and carries a high risk for dependency, therefore they must be requested every 30 days and must follow strict follow up guidelines.
A block of time is reserved for your appointment, so if you need to cancel, you are required to give at least 24 business hours of advance notice. Business hours are considered: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday 9am – 6pm. Should you cancel within less than 24 business hours of the scheduled appointment, or do not show for an appointment, you will be charged the full fee for the visit. Visit fees are processed at 7am on the day of your scheduled appointment. Your insurance company will not reimburse you for missed sessions. Consistent attendance at follow-up appointments are important for safe medical care.
Purpose Psychiatry operates on a fee for service (cash pay) basis and payments are run at 7am on the day of your appointment. In order to establish care, you must have a valid payment method on file prior to your appointment date and time. If the payment method on file declines, you may be subject to a late fee of 45.00. When scheduling an appointment, you will be provided with an electronic link via email to fill out the forms digitally. This email will come from our EMR platform called TEBRA. Be sure to check your spam folder for the email as sometimes these emails are known to land in spam. Please use a computer as that is the best set up compatible with the digital form completion process. Smart devices and tablets are not reliable and data is often lost causing you to have to start the process all over again. Filling out the digital intake forms can take up to 25 minutes so be sure to reserve enough time and a comfortable space to complete this important process. Digital intake forms are required to be submitted 24 hours prior to your appointment unless otherwise arranged by the provider. If intake forms are not submitted by the day of your scheduled appointment, you may get a cancellation notice and be subject to a late cancellation fee of 250.00. Appointment times are reserved for clients ahead of time and at your convenance and choosing. Should you not make arrangements to reschedule or you need more time to finish the forms and did not notify your provider, you are at risk for being liable for cancellation fee as the time slot you reserved could have been offered to another client but was reserved for you by good faith. If you are unable to complete the forms digitally, please let us know so we can get the most updated forms to you another way that meets your capibilities.
